Technical requirements

There are no specific technical requirements for registering a .UNO domain.

Renewals

Renewing your .UNO domain is a quick and easy process that you can do at any time.

Transfers

To transfer a .UNO domain, you'll need to obtain the domain's AuthCode or EPP-Key from your current registrar.

The transfer process typically takes between 5 to 7 days to complete, although some registrars offer manual transfers that can be completed on the same day. You should check with your current registrar to see if they provide this service. After the transfer is completed, the domain's expiration date extends by one year.

Cancellations

If you wish to cancel your .UNO domain registration, you can request it through the support center. Please note that canceling a domain does not result in a refund of any registration fees.

DNSSEC

.UNO domains support DNSSEC, an additional security layer that compatible DNS servers can provide. You can find more information about DNSSEC DNSSEC: What is it and how does it work.

Domain owner change

Starting from December 1st, 2016, any changes in ownership of .UNO domains require both the current and new owners to accept the changes. Once the ownership change is completed, the domain is locked and cannot be transferred for a 60-day period.

Permitted characters / IDN

.UNO domains allow the use of characters from 'a' to 'z', numbers from '0' to '9', and hyphens '-'. However, a hyphen is not permitted in the first or last position of the domain name, and two consecutive hyphens are not allowed in the 3rd and 4th positions. IDN characters are permitted in .UNO domains, with specific character tables provided for different scripts.

IDN domains don't permit to mix different Scripts or character sets (for example, Latin, Greek or Cyrillic). But it's possible to use different character tables for a same script.

• The Latin Script permits the use of characters of Latin-1 supplement, Latin Extended-A, Latin Extended-B, etc.. tables.
• The Greek Script permits to combine characters of the Greek, Greek Extended, etc.. tables, doesn't permit combine them with the normal latin characters (a-z), but permits the use of numbers or hyphens.
• Other script types have their own corresponding tables.
