.ORG Domains :The Domain for Organizations
Launched in January 1985, the .ORG extension derives its name from "Organization."
It is among the pioneering domain extensions, alongside .com, .net, .edu, .gov, and .mil. Unlike some other domains, .ORG registrations have no strict requirements, making them suitable for a wide range of websites.
Currently, the management of .ORG domains falls under the responsibility of PIR (Public Interest Registry), which assumed this role in 2003.
